Van Horn, Texas is about 150 miles east of El Paso and also on I-10. I was looking for some local flavor when I encountered this roadhouse.

It was around 11AM, clear sky with strong shadows. The bike on the roof is what caught my eye. I took this photograph with the Nikon D90 set on aperture priority, ISO 200 f/5.6 at 1/1600.
I spent most of my time at an antique/junk shop called "Fancy Junk and Unusual Objects". With a name like that I just had to park the truck and take a look.

Definitely unique junk. Look past the jaws of this metalic beast to read they also do upholstery. Since I wanted to focus on the jaws and not the building I set the D90 on f4. That automatically ran the shutter speed up to 1/2000 at ISO 200. I got the desired soft focus of the background while the foreground is nice and sharp.

Yet one more strange looking beast to photograph before moving on down the road.
This was also shot with the D90, aperture priority set to f4 and the shutter at 1/20000 with the ISO still at 200.Thanks for looking and clicking!
