Day one of my road trip to Page Arizona

I have just returned from my trip to Page, Arizona. Except for the first day, which was pure hell, I had a great time and very successful photography road trip.

The first day I had to endure 70+MPH winds and the sand/dust storm those winds brought. Just 1/2 mile from my exit, I-40 was shut down due to limited visibility. I backtracked to the next exit and drove north on US 87 instead of US 89.

I then meandered my way west until I ran into US 89 and went north to Page from there. Yeah, the winds were fierce, the dust was nasty but it was only for day one. I was totally exhausted when I finally arrived at Page. I started off in El Paso at midnight so as to arrive at about the earliest check-in time.

My room was reserved at the Super 8. I got a beautiful room with very nice and friendly service.

That was day one. From there things got markedly better.
