Horseshoe Bend Overlook

Click on image for a larger view

Horseshoe Bend Overlook was my second objective for my trip to Page Arizona. The first objective  of course was Antelope Canyon and the light beams I posted about previously. You can reach the overlook about 5 miles south of Page, Arizona close to mile marker 545. Look for the sign post. If you are coming from Page the trail to the overlook will be visible on your right. It's about a 3/4 mile hike from the parking area to the rim.
Don't miss this super view next time you are in or just pass through Page.
If you have vertigo as I do, then taking this picture will be a real thrill for you.
I took this picture with my Nikon D90 and the Tokina 11-16mm lens. The settings were ISO 200 aperture priority set to f/7.1 and the camera chose 1/500th at 11mm. It was a dull, cloudy day with intermittent rain showers. Sure, you hike 3/4 mile one way, take one picture and go back but the picture and the sight are just too amazing to miss.

Thanks for reading, and a special thanks for your links and clicks. I really do need to be linked to other sites and would appreciate that favor.
