Citizens should be allowed to take photos while standing in public spaces near federal buildings, according to a lawsuit filed on Thursday by the New York Civil Liberties Union. The lawsuit challenges regulations that prohibit photography on federal property.
Hell, I thought I lived in a free country but I have been harassed by cops, private citizens and federal stooges ever since 9-11. My usual reply depends on their approach. If they come up and make demands I tell them to speak up so the mike will record everything they say. That usually gets cops and federal stooges off my back and out of my hair. They hate publicity. Private citizens - I just tell them to piss off.
I have little patience with these pointy heads but until now I did not even know the feds have a law that you can't take pictures of federal property. It's a stupid law that can't be enforced anyway. Reporters do it every day. I guess I'm going to have to go on Ft. Bliss, a federal property if there ever was one and take tons of pictures to post on FlickR.
